This week, we’re taking a closer look inside the outpost bunkers. Their new interior fit-outs bring lockers, furniture, lighting and worn surfaces into the rooms you explore on foot. The focus is on making the space feel like a small, working frontier shelter, with room for equipment, a small living area and a bench you can actually use. These screenshots show the current development build.

A room with signs of life

Step through the entrance and there is more to take in than the bunker's outer shell suggests. Storage sits along the walls, lamps light the room, and pipes and structural ribs run overhead. The living area brings a bed and furniture into the same compact space as the equipment. Together, those details suggest the everyday business of staying out here: keeping supplies close, finding room to work and making a place to rest.

The fittings and finishes can vary between outposts. Different locker arrangements, colours, wear and furniture give the rooms their own appearance while keeping a familiar, practical layout. In desert interiors, sand spills over the threshold, carrying a little of the landscape indoors. It is a small detail, but one that helps the bunker feel part of its surroundings.

There is still room to walk through it. The entrance, main route across the floor and space around the crafting bench stay clear, so the extra furniture gives you things to look at without blocking the places you need to reach.

A workspace on the frontier

The interior also gives the existing crafting bench a proper setting. At the opening outpost, walk up to the bench, face it and press Interact-F with the default controls—to open crafting. Raw iron can be made into plates for repairing the Runabout outside. The work area has a direct purpose in your first visit, alongside the furnishings that make the rest of the room feel occupied.

That is what this addition brings to the outpost: a place you can step into, look around and use. You arrive with a practical reason to visit the bench, but the lamps, worn metal and small living area give you a little more to notice while you are there.
